# Welcome to Egedal Municipality

Egedal is an excellent location for businesses of all types and sizes. Attracting new businesses is a high priority for the Council.

Egedal Municipality has a population of approximately 45.500 inhabitants and is the result of a merger between three municipalities Ølstykke, Stenløse and Ledøje-Smørum, which came into force January 1, 2007.

Egedal Municipality is governed by the current Mayor Birgitte Neergaard-Kofod and a Municipal Council of 21 elected councillors.

Whether you live or work in Egedal - we have a lot to offer. The area has a highly skilled workforce and a high quality of life. Egedal is part of the Greater Copenhagen Area and is situated in the midst of a picturesque scenery with green forests and blue lakes. Egedal offers impressive architecture and excellent transport links to Copenhagen, which serves as a gateway between continental Europe, Scandinavia and the Baltic countries—giving your company access to a broad and diverse market.
